Aaryn, Tim and Bryce had great runs really showing the opposition they are not slow

Jake, Bryce, Aaryn and Tim were all tackling like machines. Both Jake and Bryce making 14 tackles in the blistering heat. Great effort guys

Joshua and Jarod put in a huge effort today helping us out as a few of our players were still on holidays

Jacob also too put in some great runs and made some vital tackles when needed

Henry and Cody, the big men in the side need 3 or 4 to get them down. Great game guys

Well the big fella Jarrod does it again, backing up from the first game he scored all 20 points for the side. Jarrod tried to offload to Michael but the opposition were all there. Great sportsmanship Jarrod.

Tim and Josh were a bit tired after backing up from the first game but a great game and were in there tackling and runing away.

Brannan put a high effort tackling everything that moved. Macking 12 tackles. Great effort mate!!!

Jake, johnathon, Nathan, Lochlan, Jacob and Luke all had great games. With the heat it nearly killed the poor little men. Great teamwork guys

Till next week

Greenbank White 27 Centenary 05

The team is going so well together its getting harder to choose player of the week. They are passing the ball to each other fending off the other players and the tackling is so good.

All of them are showing that they are a good neat team. Fantastic game. Good luck next week.

The guys were getting right in there and they had a really good game. They didnt win, but they were trying their hardest right to the end. As long as they were enjoying themselves out there. Our new player Justim was getting in there helping with the tackling. Great effort. Thankyou to Jessica, Tyson, Alec and spud for helping out the green team. I bet they slept well Sunday night. Fantastic effort. Good luck next week

Well boys it was a hot day and it showed at the end.

The boys played pretty well but tired in the end.

We did well to come back from 15 nil down to lead 17-15.

Our defense let us down and we bunched up in attack.

We will be training hard next week

ANZ   Game

Our second game was at ANZ Stadium was a lot better

than the first game.  We won this game 8—0 against

Holy Spirit. The boys played very well in front of

22,000 people and they loved it.  We showed them

how to play better football.  Well Done!

2 games that were played in very hot conditions. The first game was fair to watch. The first half we just did not play at all. The second we got back into the game, just to go down.

There seems to me that about half a dozen of the boys put their heart into the game, if we want to be competitive we all have to pick our game up an help them.

The second game was very one sided with them giving us 'how to play football'

Well after a slow start to the comp by our boys finally we were able to notch up a victory.

This was a replay of last years zone 5 championship

And once again Greenbank came out on top.

The team played much better than our previous two games, so lets hope that starts a winning streak.

Mathematically we can still make the Presidents Flag, but we can’t afford another loss in our next three games.  This week some players that stood out  were Adam Douglas with his great halfback work and his kicking game, our forwards, Azza, Kyle, Josh and Andy put in some great attacking bursts.

Matt Knobel who missed our first 2 games came up with two 5 point tries, with his first one being a doozy off one of Adam’s kicks.  Cody, Jade and Jesse were all in there having a good game.

Aaron Harris scored our other try from a quick blindside run.  Of the new boys, Chris and Daniel will improve I am sure. I thought that Ben and Steve contributed to our win with some good runs.

I must say Daniel Byrnes amazes me each game with his tenacious tackling from marker. Finally to our young Einstein (Dean) I liked what I saw in your non stop harassment of those Mustangs boys.

This week we have a bye, but I would like all to attend training because we need to still do some work, there is still room for improvement.

I would appreciate it if any player can not play on game day could they please let me know so I can compensate and work around it.

Greenbank 06 Centenary 52

This weeks saw the U13's take on Centenary at Centenary.  It was a hot day for a game and it would of been nice to get the 2 minute drinks break but thats no excuse for very poor defense and ball handling.

It was all one way traffic in the first half with Centenary taking control of the ball with some tough defense and even stronger ball running which scared some of our more solid defenders.

After a bit of a "talk" at half time from myself, and a few parents the Raiders came out with a bit more fight in them and stuck it to Centenary with some solid defense especially from our smallest guy Luke and the Big 3 (Chris, Rueben and Daniel). Our attack isn't that crash hot at times with the forwards taking over our backline, we only managed to complete 4 sets of 6 out of 24 possible sets? hmmmm wonder why we were so tired??

Well boys we can change all that with a little more attention at training.

Also I'd like to thank Mal West and Mark Murr for taking on the jobs of Trainer and Flagsman, and all the parents for their support.

Greenbank 24 Brothers 26

We are pleased to report that after a very hard knock in the head and a trip to the hospital Paul Jackson is recovering at home and will be fine although he will not be returning to the team for 3 weeks. Thanks to Jacqui, Bruce Hardie, Mitchell Horne, Shane Denning, the nurse from the Brothers side and the duty officials for thier help with Paul. We must also commend the ref for his quick thinking and first aid knowledge. Steve Mckay has had x-rays on his finger which has been confirmed as fractured and will not be returning to the side for at least 2 weeks. Bad luck Steve, hope you feel better soon.

Well boys, another game that got away from us. Our inability to control the ball cost us badly and our discipine towards the end of the game was appaling. Slack disipline means penalties to the opposition which gives them the upper hand, it cost us the game on Sunday. We need to be more committed as a team in our defense. Our attack was good with some excellent backing up resulting in good tries.

Once again Kaz had a good game in the forwards and Bryan led by example in the backs/ I was very impressed with Darrens game today in attack and defence, for his first year at football he played exceptionally well.

Thanks to Shane Denning for running trainer, Matt Wilson for running the line, Rhiannon and Kimberley for Duty Officials and to the parents that helped clear the field at the end of the game
