PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THERE IS NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED ON THE SIDELINES OF
OUR GROUNDS FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THIS COULD LEAD TO THE OFFENDERS BEING EVICTED FROM THE GROUNDS. From the Secretary To all Parents, Spectators, Players, Coaches, Managers, and training staff. At the beginning of the season the committee pointed out to you all a memo that came from the BJRL regarding codes of conduct. Recently on the 26th April the Judiciary Committee of the BJRL handed down the codes first disciplinary decision to a Coach of a team and a Parent of a Player from another club. In both cases verbal abuse was targeted at either a referee or a duty official, the BJRL had no option and handed out a ban to both Coach & Parent for the remainder of the season. So on behalf of Greenbank Rugby League we as a committee would dearly like to STRESS the point that under no circumstance will abuse be tolerated at our games, or this disciplinary action could very well happen to any one of us. I must say though from the few games that I have attended so far Greenbank have been quite well behaved so please lets keep it that way PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE ALL HERE FOR THE PLAYERS ENJOYMENT OF THE GAME. (without the help of Duty Officials and Referees we would not have Rugby League games) Thank you Cameron Anderson (Secretary)

(23 March 2002)
Greenbank Rugby League has 4 club referees and they are:
|
Mr Bruce Thompson | |
|
Mr Daran Murphy | |
|
Mr Damien Gerhardt | |
|
Mr Peter Koplick. |
Without refs in our sport we would not have a game.
Please remember that these refs do a fine job each weekend and I would like to see Greenbank lead the way in encouraging them (not abusing them).
Now here a couple of light hearted moments.
Fair Go Ref!!! proves that, yes, we are still human, and sometimes it doesn't hurt to laugh at ourselves.
Sometimes in the Rugby League world, there is a "not so serious" side. Here we take a look at some of the things that prove referees (and footballers) are only human
At a match recently, a spectator asked the referee if he was available on the weekend. The reason: He needed a clown for a kids party!
· In a recent trial match, a First Grade player received a caution from the referee. His reply: "No problem with the caution ref, but can we chat a bit longer...I'm stuffed"

Well we just finished our second week of trials and I must say after seeing just about all our sides in action so far, I very confident we are in for one very successful season. All the competition teams 11s up to 17s and of course our opens all look to me as if they will give their respective competitions a real shake.
I just would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people for their tireless volunteer contribution so far. Bruce Hardie for a magnificent effort in making sure not only that the fields have been set up for trials but for putting away the gear as well.
To Karen Johnson for her help so far being a duty official at most games.
To Karen Beckett and Lianne McCullum for their efforts in getting sign on of players.
And finally to Daran Murphy for either refereeing or touch judging at the trials.
That’s it for the moment
Cameron Anderson (Secretary)

Please remember that during our games there is to be NO alcohol consumed at the ground unless you are in a defined liquor area. Failure to do so can result in that person being ejected from the ground and the team or teams can lose their valuable points on the ladder. Please be responsible and remember we are here for our kids
